Welcome!

When you visit us at the Church of Christ, we want you to feel comfortable. We know an unfamiliar place can be confusing, so let us share with what you can expect.

Background:
We want to be like the church of the New Testament in the first Century- to determine from the bible what the church was like in the beginning, and to be like that. We want to be a Bible centered church.

Worship Hour:
For the convenience of all we erected a church building. There are no reserved seats, so feel free to sit anywhere you choose.

Prayers:
There will be several prayers during the worship, and there may be prayers for specific needs and request. It is common to close prayers with the congregation saying " Amen" which is Hebrew for "so be it".

Sermon:
Our preacher does not have a title, pastor or reverend. He will probably be called by his first name. He will not be wearing any ecclesiastical vestment which sets him apart. The reason for this is that we all equal in the eyes of the Lord. The sermon will likely be about 30 minutes. We think you will find it refreshingly Bible-centered.

Invitation:
At the end of the sermon we sing an invitation song. During that song anyone who wishes to respond may do so that time by coming forward to sit on the front pew.

Singing:
Christians in the first century did not use instruments in worship service. We follow this practice, so our song service is a cappella. A song book is provided for everyone, so each person can participate in worship. We feel you will find the singing meaningful.

Communion:
Communion will be included in the worship service. In the first century, the memorial to Jesus was held every first day of the week. The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus; the fruit of the vine symbolizes his blood. If you choose not to participate in the communion do not be embarrassed. Feel free to just pass the plate or tray to the person next to you.

Offering:
A container will be passed to collect the weekly financial offering. Again, participate if you wish. As our guest, you are not expected to make a donation.

Our Purpose:
Our purpose in meeting on Sunday is to worship the Lord and share together as Christians. We are grateful that you would consider spending this special time with us.

Becoming a Christian
We are saved by grace through our response of faith, believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died and took the penalty of our sins on Himself, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God. Every person capable of faith is called by God to believe in Jesus as their Savior, repent for sin in their life, make a public confession of faith that Jesus is Lord, and be joined to Christ and His Church by being Baptized (immersed) in his name. Having made this response of faith, all sin in forgiven and we receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit.
